Shipping Policies:
We ship most orders of in stock items the next business day.
We always ship matching dyelots unless we hear from you that mixed dyelots will work for you. If we don't have enough of one dyelot for your order and we don't hear back from you we will hold your order until enough of a single dyelot comes in stock.
Backorders: You can order more of an item than we have in stock. We are happy to do this. It takes 2-3 weeks to get items in from the various yarn companies. We like to be fully stocked, so in most cases the yarn will already be on order, so this wait time will be less. Knitting/crocheting is very popular, so most of the yarn companies are backordered on one thing or another. If an item is backorder, it sometimes is 6-8 weeks before we have it stock, sometimes much longer. We will e-mail you with the option to wait or cancel all/part of your order. Your credit card will be authorized for the backorder amount. Your credit card will be charged when the yarn ships.
The default is for us to hold your whole order until everything is in stock. If you would like some/all of the remainder to be shipped please let us know in the comment field. There may be an additional shipping charge for shipping part of your order, $5.99 for orders under $50, free if the partial order is over $50. Your credit card will only be charged for what is being shipped.
Within the continental United States: Ground shipping is $5.99 for any size order, free ground shipping if the order is over $50. If you are only ordering one item weighting less than 5 oz (with packaging) you may want to choose First Class Mail.
We ship "Ground" orders via First Class Mail, Priority Mail or UPS depending on the weight of the order. Under 14 oz will likely be shipped via First Class Mail. Under 6 lbs will most likely be shipped via Priority Mail, over 6 lbs will most likely be shipped via UPS. Post Office boxes and some rural areas will always be USPS First Class Mail or Priority Mail. Some areas of the country and business addresses will most likely be UPS. If you prefer USPS or UPS you can select these methods in the shopping cart.
If during checkout you choose to have your order shipped via UPS. Actual charges will be calculated for you. Sometimes the shipping calculator is offline, in which case we will e-mail you your charges.
Shipping Outside the USA: If you select ground, we charge actual shipping, Your choice of methods: USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail or Global Express. The shopping cart may say that the shipping is zero, in which case we will e-mail you your actual shipping charges.
You should be aware of your countries duty charges. You should also be aware with fuel being very high, that shipping overseas is very expensive and we have no control over this. We can not ship items as "Gifts".
You can go to the US Mail site at www.USPS.com to look up rates before you order. Our Zip Code is 60115. Please factor in an additional pound for packing. You can also go to www.UPS.com to look up rates. UPS has a minimum shipping weight of 3lbs to most countries.
Return Policy:
All sales are backed by a 100% refund guarantee of the purchase price less shipping charges. For orders over $50, the purchase price less $5.99 will be refunded if the total of the yarn kept is less than $50.
If not satisfied, you may return it in the same condition received. Please e-mail us to let us know that you are returning your purchase. Please include a copy of your sales order along with the reason for the return. All returns need to be postmarked within 7 days of the delivery date.
Exchanges: Because we want you to be sure that you have enough yarn to complete your project, yarn can be exchanged if postmarked within 60 days of the original sale. Please e-mail us to let us know that you will be returning yarn for exchange. Yarn needs to arrive in the same condition as sold. Please include a copy of your sales order in with your yarn. We will e-mail you your store credit amount when the yarn arrives. New shipping charges apply to orders using store credits. Exchange on yarn only, no returns or exchanges on other items after 7 days.
